Erin Leyden-Healey, M.Ed serves as the Director of Special Populations at Village Green Charter School (VGCS), bringing two decades of dedicated service and educational leadership to public and charter school settings. Guided by a deep commitment to equity, student-centered learning, and specialized instruction, Erin oversees systems and programs that support diverse learners to ensure every student receives tailored, high-quality educational opportunities.

Erin joined the Village Green Community in the Fall of 2016 and has spent the last 10 years at VGCS specializing in special education and leadership for special populations. Prior to joining VGCS, she spent 10 years working across public school districts, building extensive expertise in public elementary education, elementary and middle school special education, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) coordination. Her comprehensive career trajectory gives her a unique, multi-level understanding of student development, continuum-of-care programming, and intervention strategies from primary grades through high school graduation.

Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts/Science from the University of Rhode Island, double-majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology, and went on to complete her Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. Demonstrating a continuous commitment to professional growth and administrative excellence, she most recently completed a certificate program for Special Education Administrators through Providence College. Throughout her 20-year career in education, Erin remains a dedicated advocate for inclusive school cultures, data-informed practice, and equitable outcomes for all students.
